Janurary 26th, 2010: Day #18- Workday

January 26th. Tuesday. Day 18. It was another one of those days, the ones where time passes so slowly it’s like time has lost meaning. And a slow day means not much got done today. This, however, does not mean nothing got done; it simply means what got done was not to our usual standard.

Public Relations worked on writing Ashwyn’s Bio. Ashwyn, surprisingly, is not a very creative guy. Not at all. Deepa, the one working on the Character Bios, came up with a gripping story about his manufacturing turned bad, and his life as a vamp-bot striving to be human. It’s a really awesome story. You should go read about in on the Team Tab.

Faiz, also in the CAD room, worked on the driving test. I find this odd, seeing as Frosh can’t drive the robot, and Faiz is a Freshmen. It’s a pretty brutal test, with questions as complicated as “Given the equation __(This is supposed to be blank)__, describe what it means and is used for.

David, as usual, worked on the website. There really isn’t much to say on this one, since he works on everything, and everything will not fit on here.

Jeff worked on the kicker today. I believe this is design #4. This one he was busy making sure it can chip the ball as well as reset. He had it hooked up to a DeWalt drill to see if it works. It, being Jeff’s design, worked like a boss.

Sheila worked on the team shirts today. They look awesome, and I cannot wait to wear them around school. There are the most BA images on them, including a monochromatic flaming mustang.

Programming worked on mecanum drive for the robot. Mecanum should allow the robot to go, as well as the usual forward-backward-turn, it would also have the ability to go strafe sideways and go diagonal. Courtesy of the mecanum wheels we ordered.

Thus, this is how we spent our lovely Tuesday evening. Hope you come back tomorrow for the next update.
