Janurary 27th, 2010: Day #19- Workday
January 27th. Day 19. Seems like the season is slipping by like so many grains of sand in an hourglass.
Public Relations worked on the Chairman’s Award. This is the most prestigious award a team can win, and we WANT it. They, in specific, worked on the Executive summary of it. This refers to the paperwork of it; the boring stuff that most other people would rather detest doing. Sumathi, member of PR, worked on collecting pictures and videos (provided you your favorite blogger) for the presentation of Metal Mustang Robotics to the panel of Judges for the aforementioned big award. Sheila, Co-Capitan and leader of PR worked on the paraphernalia of MMR.
Alec White, resident Computer Aided Drafting master, worked on blueprinting pieces of the robot. These designs are vital, as they are what Mr. Ritter will be using to determine what he has to cut.
Speaking of making parts, Jeff worked with some parts. He worked on making some torsion springs for the various motors of the bot. Also working on the robot were Sean and Alex Guinn. They were working on hanging the robot. The chosen method was to get it up via arm. Not humanoid arm, but more telescoping hook. Alex worked on hunting down the needed parts on the internet, and Sean created a “proof of concept” for the mechanism.
David, like every day before, worked on the website.
So, this is how we spent our Wednesday night, and is how we’re going to spend the rest of the nights for the next 3 weeks. We enjoy them, because we’re Robotics!
