Janurary 29th, 2010: Day #21- Workday

January 29th. Day 21. MECANUM WHEELS CAME IN! YAY!!!!!! Thus, with record speed, Chris Lopez assembled the wheels.  While he was doing this, Mr. Ritter was using advanced methods to adapt a fisher-price motor for our robot. In specific, he was filing down one of the gears to fit. Sumathi worked on setting up propaganda to attract the younger peoples to robotics. Sheila and Alex White worked on designing the Pit. At first it was going well, but then we realized we made no opening…Thus, we changed the CAD drawing to include an opening. In the woodshop, the old crew plus Toasty and Jared White worked on stripping the old pit of the flex-fit in order to help us repurpose them. Programming worked on setting up the compressor and hooking it up to the drive station. Faiz created a test for whoever wants to drive the robot, and it is one heck of a hard test. Jeff and Sean Weaver worked their way around the robot closet, scavenging for the various parts he needed to complete the concept robot. Sheila worked on something very important. US FIRST named us (and team 931) Girls Ambassadors of FIRST for KC Regionals. Sean, again, simply worked on everything; helping out Jeff, working on his pneumatics, or assisting programming with the compressor falls under the category of “everything.”

This is how we all spent our Friday evening, and we liked it!
