February 1st, 2010: Day #24- Workday

February 1st. Day 24. Hard to believe half the season is already gone. The first half went kinda slow. Not the case with this half. This half is slipping by so fast, I’m afraid I’ll blink.

Deepa (The PR Trader), Vishaak, and Zach Helmstetter worked with Mr. Ritter on making the Axel Supports. It’s a very fascinating job, filing down the edges of what Mr. Ritter plasma cut. Also happening in the shop was the Build team! Wohooo!

Aaron, Alex Guinn, and Chris Lopez worked on hanging the robot. They’re making a telescoping arm to do this task. It’s a really interesting concept, and I’d like to see it get proved and mounted on the real robot.

Deepa, who came crawling back to PR, worked with David to find fonts for the website. They’re pretty awesome, especially the one called Giddyup STandarD. Speaking of David, he worked on the website. It’s gotten scary with him. We all want him to win the award, because we’re scared of what would happen if he doesn’t. Kidding. But we still want him to win it. Raj also worked with David, rewriting the Intro because The King doesn’t think it’s “proper.”

Ashwyn worked in the CAD room today. He worked on editing my beloved blog. He checked mostly for grammatical errors. Like sentence fragments. He also worked on downloading various programs that would help with the bot.
PR worked on the Chairman’s movie and the Executive Summary. We also really want the Chairman’s Award. As well as all this, I believe they also worked on sponsorship letters. So, basically, PR worked on the same thing as they always do.

Jeff worked with Programming today. He was working with them to make absolutely sure that the drive train is “bullet proof.” This means he wants to be absolutely sure nothing can disrupt the robot once we start driving it. A rampage robot would be pretty bad, so this is why he’s checking this. Programming, is conjunction with working with Jeff, also worked to make autonomous mode.

Monday night was fun, and they’re even better with Robotics.
