February 9th, 2010: Day #32- Workday
February 9th. Day…I’m not sure, the season’s flying by too fast. I think it’s supposed to be 32.
Today was visit day! We had little peoples come and check out our stuff. They visited the Programming room, and they saw the robot in action. Ashwyn, The King, Capitan of the MMR, talked to them about the team and what Programming does. Then, the fun began where he and Jeff took over the robot and showed what it can do. Then, they relocated to the shop and had Mr. Ritter explain about the tower and the chassis of the robot to the little kiddies. Afterwards, they came to see where the beginning of the robot is, also known to many as the “Fun Room.” We explained to them what making a “CAD model” of the robot means, as well as what else gets done in here. We explained how this is where the robot is “born” as well as this is where the website gets done, where PR is based, and everything. Then, they went back to the Programming room for the closing words, and Ashwyn made a gutsy move: He let the little peoples drive! When questioned about this, and how we never got to drive his response was simple. “You never asked.”
As far as the rest of the teams, they spent a majority of the day showing Gracious Professionalism and helping out with all of the visitors. We’ll pick back up speed tomorrow, and work to progress our progress.
