February 18th, 2010: Day #40- Workday
It’s time… Everything is due today! So we all just finishing the corrections for the Woodie Flowers Award, the Chairman’s Award and the website. David is working on the website, of course. Jenny and Sumathi are working on cutting down on the Woodie Flower’s Award so that it fits the word requirement. And Faiz, Manda, and Deepa are working on the Chairman’s Essay. The Chairman’s Video is finished and I had the honor of watching it and I would be proud to play that for anyone. Build is working on mounting the ‘telescopey thing’. Apparently the brackets for the ‘telescopey thing’ were bent so they have to make another one and then mount it. Jeff is working on the functions of the kicker with the drive in programming. Another part of build is building a piece on Inventor. This particular piece is going to support the wench mechanism on the robot. The rest of build is working on the bumpers and doing odd jobs. Sean is working on the electric board as usual. The Pit crew went to Home Depot to get more string for the Pit cubes. So yesterday the Pit cubes were warping a bit because of the tension from the strings. The Pit used their problem solving skills and through a mixture of loosening and tightening the strings they got the then rhombus back into somewhat of a cube. Programming is testing the drive and then they’re going to be testing autonomous. It seems like they’ve made good progress which is really good because ship day is in less than a week. Ashwyn is rewriting the Team Bio on our website and he’s going to be reading over the Chairman’s Essay and the Woodie Flower’s Essay.
