Robot
2010 Breakaway:

Name: Trigger
Wheels/Drive: Mecanum x4 (allows the robot to move from side to side as well as forward and backward; 360 degrees of motion)
Attributes: Travel over the bump, Ball control mechanism, Ball launcher
Top speed: 11 feet per second
Chassis dimensions:27”x 36”x 20”
Best Position: Offense, ranked 12th in our division.
Summary: Our robot has top-of-the-line ball control which makes us a strong competition for offense. With our ball control we can also kick accurately from approx. 8 feet on average. This robot has come out on top for two regionals winning as a finalist in Kansas City and a competition winner in Oklahoma City.
2009 Lunacy:
Name: Gabl
Wheels/Drive: Standard issue x4, wide body, tank drive
Attributes: Spiral acquisition and shooter
Best Position: Any, but preferably corners on offense
Summary: With a quick movement and a 7-second ball acquisition and ejection, this robot could defend as well as score accurately. Our robot had a removable spiral to easily access the electronics board. Our 2009 Lunacy robot was quite effective, but we did not make it past quarter finals in our competitions.
Quick Fixes: During the season, we had to make some minor adjustments on the shooter and the ball acquisition. We decided to add more compression to our shooter while also limiting the top on the shooter with a piece of lexan. This allowed for direct shooting and unloading. It led to a successful run.
